Everybody calls our chef Papà Luciano! First of all, because he likes people and he wants to offer his cooking to the people. He wants to please everybody, and to be friends with everybody. Having a great deal of experience of more than 40 years, his cuisine is well-known in Sydney, especially in the Eastern Suburbs, from Bondi Beach to Darlinghurst and the City.

Luciano Capraro is originally from Latina, a famous region in the centre of Italy. There, everybody cooks traditional Italian food, for all Italian palates! Why? Because Latina is the meeting point of the sophisticated Northern Italian cuisine and the popular Southern Italian cuisine.

Our chef has had a lot of Australian experience in cooking. Two decades ago, he founded trendy Il Puntino on Sydney's famous Bondi Beach Promenade, where the chic clientele enjoyed his mouthwatering Italian fare. Prosperous business allowed him to open a second Il Puntino restaurant, this time near the Sydney City area.

In 2000, Papà Luciano, coping with an increasing base of customers, found it necessary to open a larger restaurant with more tables, where he could cater for more and more people! He found this place at 89 Crown St, Darlinghurst, and called it Il Vicoletto.

Today, at Il Vicoletto, he combines the skill and gastronomic knowledge of an experienced chef with a large variety of dishes in the menu, a good range of drinks and spirits, and, of course, great staff understanding and satisfying the needs of everyone who craves a stylish Italian dining experience!
